By upcycling fruit residues such as orange and banana peels—we have developed a 100% naturally derived, fully biodegradable superabsorbent polymer. As a pioneer in this field, we promote a circular model that turns waste into value and supports more resilient farming
Through this circular ecosystem, we’re working to transform agricultural practices and address water-related issues in a practical, lower-impact way. Our mission is to stand alongside farmers and agricultural communities as a trusted, long-term partner in building a more sustainable future.
Upcycle things that have been discarded until now, such as oranges and bananas. As a world pioneer, we have developed a super absorbent polymer that is completely biodegradable. We will renew conventional agriculture through a “recycling-oriented ecosystem,” and take on the challenge of solving global environmental problems centered on water issues.
Our mission is to be a partner that is close to farmers and agricultural workers and continues to be trusted from a long-term perspective.

EF Polymer was founded by Narayan Lal Gurjar, who grew up in a small farming village of about 300 people in Rajasthan, India. The arid soils there made agriculture difficult, and from an early age he saw firsthand the hardships his farmer parents and neighbors faced. Driven by a wish to “one day help my parents and community struggling with water scarcity,” he developed EF Polymer, a 100% naturally derived superabsorbent polymer.
The challenges extend beyond water scarcity to issues like food waste and the CO₂ emissions from incineration that contribute to global warming. By upcycling agricultural residues that would otherwise be discarded, EF Polymer aims to deliver low-cost, sustainable agricultural inputs, accessible even in emerging markets and help address the global environmental problems linked to farming.
Possibility
Superabsorbent polymers (SAP) are used in many everyday products. Most are petroleum-derived, which raises environmental concerns. As awareness grows, interest in biobased, biodegradable alternatives is increasing.
At EF Polymer, we are advancing solutions for agriculture and also helping drive green transformation (GX) in products that currently rely on petroleum-based SAPs. Through partnerships and joint R&D with industry leaders, we are co-developing sustainable replacements across multiple sectors.
