It was held in Sapporo City on December 6,Farmnote Summit 2023I participated in the pitch event “Sustainable Impact Showcase” and received the GOLD Award, which is the winner.
At this event, 12 startups contributing to social impact and sustainability will gather from all over the country to introduce their solutions to issues related to primary industries such as agriculture and forestry. COO Shimoji from EF Polymer gave a presentation and was selected for the GOLD Award as a result of judging by 10 official judges.
COO Shimoji Kunitaku stated the following. “The number of producers seriously affected by water shortages due to droughts and soaring fertilizer prices continues to increase around the world, starting with Hokkaido and Okinawa. I believe that by delivering “EF polymers,” which can increase soil water retention and extend the duration of fertilizer effects, to many producers, we can both realize economically and environmentally sustainable agriculture. Our Japanese and Indian teams will continue to work together to improve our products and services. I think that is a way to return the favor to everyone who supports us.”
Recently, cultivation of crops continues to be difficult in Hokkaido due to the effects of droughts and long rains due to climate change. In 2023, midsummer days will be observed over a long period of time from July onwards, and the environment surrounding farmers has become even more severe due to the unstable climate. EF Polymer is currently being tested on crops such as potatoes, carrots, and onions in areas centered around Tokachi and Furano, and we will work to further popularize and promote products in the future.
