EF Polymer was selected for “NEXT IMPACT STARTUPS 30” in the 2025/3 issue of Forbes Japan. In this special issue, 30 next-generation impact startups that will change the world are introduced from among startups aiming for a sustainable society.
EF Polymer is currently being developed in 4 countries, starting with selling a completely organic super absorbent polymer born from orange peel in India at the end of 2020 as an agricultural material. In addition, demonstration tests are being conducted in approximately 20 countries, mainly in regions where the effects of droughts are severe.Approximately 400 tons of polymers have been sold so far. The amount of crop residue upcycled during the polymer manufacturing process amounts to approximately 4,000 tons. Going forward, we will strengthen business development in newly entered regions such as the United States and France, and work to deliver EF polymers to even more producers.
In fields other than agriculture, we are developing raw materials for daily necessities and cosmetics, where polymers derived from petroleum were the mainstream until now.A thickener for cosmetics was announced in October last yearAlso, we are currently promoting cooperation with companies. Utilizing the characteristics of being completely organic and completely biodegradable, we will support environmental measures and green transformation (GX) for various companies in the future.
