Adoption for the “Deep Tech Startup Support Fund/Deep Tech Startup Support Project (DTSU)” hosted by NEDO has been decided

EF Polymer recently announced that it has been selected as an enterprise in the PCA phase of the Deep Tech Startup Support Fund/Deep Tech Startup Support Project (DTSU) hosted by the National Research and Development Corporation New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). Over the next three years from fiscal 2025 to 2028, we will work on multi-site development, construction of resource recycling models, improvement of current polymers, and development of polymers other than agricultural applications. We will receive a maximum subsidy of 800 million yen from NEDO as a subsidy for this support project and aim to accelerate the business.

About the Deep Tech Startup Support Fund/Deep Tech Startup Support Project (DTSU)

NEDO conducts an open call throughout the year for the subsidy project with the title, targeting “deep tech startups,” which require long-term research and development and large-scale funding until technology establishment, commercialization, and social implementation, and are working on research and development of innovative technologies that are thought to contribute to solving economic and social issues that should be addressed by countries and the world as a whole, and the public offering is conducted about 4 times a year. Cooperation with VCs, etc. and the use of stage gate examinations are incorporated into the system, and support for practical application research and development, mass production demonstration, overseas technology verification, etc. is carried out from a long-term perspective.

EF Polymer was selected as the PCA phase (practical application research and development (late stage)) in this project, which consists of 3 phases with different grant rates and grant amounts.

Details of EF Polymer's efforts in this support project

Through this support project, we will focus on projects in the following areas over 3 years from 2025 to 2028.

  • Diversification of raw materials:Polymer development using raw materials other than orange and banana peels
  • Building a resource-recycling model:Establishing sustainable manufacturing processes
  • New product development in the agricultural sector:Development of products combining EF polymers with other products
  • Strengthening the production system:Demonstration and construction for global multi-site production
  • New product development:Expansion of applications other than agricultural applications
