EF Polymer has been selected for the March 2025 issue of Forbes Japan “NEXT IMPACT STARTUPS 30.”
This special feature introduces 30 next generation impact startups that are driving transformative change toward a more sustainable society.
Since launching sales in India at the end of 2020, EF Polymer has supplied its fully organic super absorbent polymer derived from orange peels as an agricultural input. The company now operates in four countries and has conducted demonstration trials in approximately 20 countries, primarily in regions severely affected by drought.
To date, approximately 400 tons of polymer have been sold, and around 4,000 tons of crop residues have been upcycled through the production process.
Moving forward, EF Polymer will strengthen business development in new markets including the United States and France, aiming to deliver its solutions to even more growers worldwide.
Beyond agriculture, EF Polymer is developing raw materials for daily consumer goods and cosmetics, industries traditionally dominated by petroleum based polymers.
In October last year, the company announced a new thickening agent for cosmetic applications and is currently advancing collaborations with corporate partners.
Leveraging its fully organic and fully biodegradable characteristics, EF Polymer aims to support environmental initiatives and Green Transformation GX efforts across various industries.
In addition to being selected for NEXT IMPACT STARTUPS 30, EF Polymer has also been recognized in 2024 by:
Forbes Asia 100 to Watch
Forbes Japan 50 Companies Contributing to Nature
Founder and CEO Narayan Gurjar and Co founder Ankit Jain were also selected for Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2024.
